Ships Ahoy! Pirate ship sets sail on Lake Conroe

A pirate ship made its debut Saturday Lake Conroe’s newest attraction. Leroy and Joan Herbert, owners of 1097 Watersports, launched the Jolly Pirate Ship on its inaugural voyage Friday with a grand opening celebration Saturday. The unique 44-foot replica of an ancient galleon started from an old houseboat Leroy purchased in Galveston. The pirate ship is equipped with two mounted pirate cannons, a sound and lighting system, a below-deck galley complete with a satellite drinking bar, space for entertainment, restrooms and covered seating. The Jolly Pirate Ship will offer several different options for guests including 90-minute adventure voyages, private party excursions, sunset and evening voyages around Lake Conroe.
