Waterfront Dining a Short Boat Ride Away

There's a special kind of freedom in stepping off your site at Sunset Shores, dropping the boat in the water, and idling up to a restaurant dock for a bite. Lake Conroe is dotted with waterfront spots that welcome boaters — many just a short cruise (or quick drive) from the park.
Dock-and-dine favorites
Wave on Lake Conroe (7041 Kingston Cove Ln) is a relaxed, modern waterfront restaurant serving fresh seafood and cocktails. Boaters can tie up at the piers near the Southern Empress paddlewheeler landing.
Papa's on the Lake is a lively waterfront restaurant and bar with boat access, live music, and a patio made for a long lakeside afternoon.
The LandShark Bar & Grill at Margaritaville (600 Margaritaville Parkway) offers a waterfront deck, signature drinks, and both road and water access — a fun stop whether you arrive by boat or car.
The Conroe Lake House serves traditional American fare with fantastic views over the water.
Waterpoint on Highway 105
For a whole row of waterfront options in one stop, point the boat toward Waterpoint Center on Highway 105 — 17 acres of restaurants, boutiques, and a fish-feeding pier strung along a lakeside boardwalk on the lake's southern shore.
Fajita Jack's anchors it with a big water-view patio, live music, ice-cold margaritas, and chef-inspired Tex-Mex — and you can pull right up to the boat slip. Nearby you'll find Sam's Boat for seafood and sports, plus a Starbucks and Marble Slab for an after-dinner treat.
Plan your cruise
Half the fun is the ride out. Pack sunscreen, keep an eye on the afternoon wind, and leave a little daylight for the trip home so you can catch the sunset on the way back to your slip.
Menus, hours, and dock space change with the season — it never hurts to call ahead before you push off.
